Busy few weeks!

Happy Fall Yall!

Well October and November are big months in the Massey household!  October 17th is mine and Josh's anniversary.  October 24th is my birthday.  Then there is Halloween.  And November 4th is Josh's birthday!  WHEW....so much in such a few weeks.

So Halloween has come and gone.  For the first time ever I did NOTHING on Halloween.  Josh's parents and sister were here for the weekend visiting.  It was rather short, but I know they were so glad they got to see Chloe.  It has been almost 3 months since they have seen her!  While they were visitng we went to the Nascar Hall of Fame and looked at Josh's Brickyard 400 car he built for Jamie McMurray.   I know that his parent's were very proud to see his work on display!  I know that I am proud of all he has accomplished.

So...as for Halloween...it was a bust.  It seems to me like this year no one did anything.  Very sad.  Does this mean that the traditional days of Trick or Treating has gone?  All I heard about kids doing were "Trunk or Treats" at local churchs and schools.   Perhaps this is the new norm?  We did not have one single little cutie stop off at our house!  Good thing I did not buy any candy! (I don't know what I would have done if they did come!,  I think I would have found some spare toothbrush laying around!)  Chloe however...did get to wear her sweet Costume to daycare.  She was MEOW-TIFUL!

So our next big event is Josh's birthday!  He is going to be the BIG 25 tomorrow!  I cannot believe that he is gonna be a quarter of a century old!  I think we are going to celebrate by going to his favorite restaurant for some sushi!  Who would have thought that I would turn a bean, corn, and potatoe kinda guy into a sushi lover!!  So happy early birthday to my wonderful husband Josh!  I love you.

I found out today that my best friend Elizabeth got mugged last night!  This is one of those things that you think will never happen to you!  She was walking home last night around the River Market in Little Rock Arkansas and a homeless man grabbed her and pulled a knife telling her to give him everything that she has!  Luckly a guy happened to walk out of a bar at that time and saw what was happening, yelled scareing off the guy and called the police.  Liz was very shaken up but luckly she is safe and nothing was taken from her.  So just take a note that things like this can happen to you and you can never be too safe!  So ladies...go out and buy you a nice new can of pepper spray, I know that I am.

I cannot believe that November has so quickly approached us all!  It has brought about the beautiful fall weather, crisp cool air, and beautiful fall colored leaves.  I think that fall is one of my favorite times of the year.  It just brings about a comforting and warm feeling.  But best of all it means that the holidays are right around the corner.

Last but not least...I wanted to share some of Chloe's 6 month pictures that we had done.  They are fantastic.  Debby Flores and Jeremy Deal of LunahZon Photography are amazing photographers that did some fantastic work.  So two thumbs up for these two magnificent artist.  Chloe did so great and they captured some true memories of our litte peanut.

Confession

I must make a confession.  I am by far the world's worst blogger!  I swear.  I really wanna be good at this, however, I have so little time!  So, to everyone out there reading this,  I am soo sorry.

UPDATE!  Since my last post so much has happened.  Chloe has gotten SO big.  I swear she grows in her sleep.  She is now a crazy crawling mobile little peanut!.  She is always full of so many big smiles that just melt your heart.  Clapping is our newest discovery, and everything according to Chloe deserves a big round of applause. I don't know if God could have blessed Josh and I with a more beautiful, fun, and happier baby than Chloe.

Chloe's first Razorback game!  Go Hogs

Josh and I recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary by taking a nice little getaway to Charleston, SC.  Chloe got to spend the weekend with her DeDe.  It was only the second time I have ever been away from her (much needed), and yes, I cried.  Despite the sadness...we had a nice time seeing beautiful Charleston and all it has to offer.  Great food, beautiful scenery and homes, ghost stories, and lots of water.  I would love to go back and do many more things!  I cannot believe a year has gone by!  Wow..and what a year it has been for us.  Many changes have happened...and many more to come in the near future.  So, happy one year to my husband Josh, and many more to come.

I am also another year older since my last post as well!  October is such a crazy month for us.  And Josh's birthday is 2 week after mine...so he is soon to be the big 25!  It was a very relaxed birthday.  I was woken up with a smile and a card from both my husband and my little munchkin, taken to the mall, and dinner at one of my favorite places.  Birthdays just are not what they used to be when you get older....and I really hate that.

WELL....Halloween is on it's way!  We normally go to a friends house in a nearby neighborhood where everyone Trick or Treats...but this year, I think we are gonna just stay at home.  Josh's family is coming to spend the weekend with us.  I cannot wait to get little miss Chloe in her costume!  It is a kitty kat, and super precious.  I will post pics asap

I guess that is is for now!  I promise I will try harder to ensure a better effort in the blogging department.

                                                                     Boo-bye for now!

Sorry!

I know that it has been a while since I have updated...SORRY! Life with a little one is hectic.  We made an as always quick trip back to Arkansas last weekend.  It was due time for the grandparents to see Chloe.  It was a nice relaxing weekend full of family, good friends, and good food.  (I hate getting on the scales after going home.)

So I now that Christmas is far away, however, I already know exactly what I want and have not hesitated to let everyone know.  SO if I don't get it, then I will know for sure that no one is listening.  I have decided that I need a GOOD "big girl" camera.  I want a Canon EOS Rebel T2i and i am super pumped about it.  Chloe better just brace herself, I am gonna be "that mom" with the camera in her face at all times.  I cannot wait!  So to all who are concerned...I want money for Christmas to buy THIS camera.

My creative juices just don't get enough work these days, and they are itching to get out here in the last few weeks.  This surge is never a good thing.  So, I have decided that I need a project of some sort.  The problem is, there are too many things that I would really like to do.  Most of them take up alot of time, which I don't have, or they cost too much.  So here I am stuck with an itch for creativity, and no where to release it.  Poo!

Very inspired

Well yesterday I went and saw "Eat, Pray, Love."  Let me tell you, this movie made me want to stop my life and sell all I have and travel.  Julia Roberts did a great job (as always) of playing such an inspirational character. Elizabeth Gilbert is a very motivating and ambitious character that put the "real" meaning of life into perspective.  This movie showed me that there is a wide world out there that most of us here in this small part no nothing about!   I really enjoyed this movie and cannot wait to read the book.

Triskaidekaphobia

SAY WHAT??  Triskaidekaphobia is the fear of Friday the 13th.  No, I do not suffer from this phobia, however it was quite a day for me.

First off...I went to the doctor because I have completely lost my sense of smell!  I have noticed it in the last few weeks and really became concerned about it.  Of course googling it did not make matters any better!  It said I could have any of the following...
Skitsofrenia, severe head injury, brain tumor, or nasal polyps!  I mean...I guess it is never a good idea to google something...it will always give you the worst case senario and bring out the hypochondriac in anyone.  Eveyone I work with decided it was definantly Skisofrenia!  SO like any concerned person, I called my Doctor.
"Mrs. Massey what seems to be the problem?"
"I think I lost my sense of smell"  (pause on the other line)
"Okay, we can get you in at 2!"
"perfect!"
How embarassing.  My docotor had a good little chuckle when I told her, but assured me that she did not think that there was anyway that I have a brain tumor nor was I Skitsofrenic. (though many would disagree.)  All it was was severe inflammation and nothing a round of steroids wouldn't cure.  GREAT!  Steroids, one more thing that is gonna make me fatter.  OH well...hopefully now I can smell again.

Also,  last night was the first of many to come. ..Chloe threw a huge fit while we were out to dinner.  I was so embarassed.  We had to get our food to go!  I didn't know, nor do I still know what happened?  It was like someone snuck up and pinched her, and WHAM....Chloe freaked out.  She never does this.  I mean it was one of those back arching, breath holding, break a swet kind of fits.  We were kind enough to go outside and ask for our food to go and let the rest of the restaurant eat in peace.

The best part of my day however was receiving this great picture of my precious little peanut!

Photo by Debby Flores!  SHE is awsome.  Check her out at Lunahzon.com

All in all my Friday the 13th did not bring about any phobic feelings,  ghost, or freakish hauntings, just an average day in our circus of a life!

Dr. Tucker

As I said before, one of my best friends, Kevan Beth, is beginning Medical School tomorrow at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She had her White Coat Ceremony this past week and signed her life over to the medical profession.
Patiently waiting

Getting her White Coat!

What a hot little Doctor she is gonna be!

I just wanted Kevan Beth to know that I am so super proud of her and am going to be thinking of her tomorrow!  Best of luck.

Another win!

I just wanted to congratulate my husband!!! The race team that he works for (Earnhardt Ganassi Racing) won another race this year, this makes 3!  I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments.  Way to go Juan Pablo Montoya!

Friends are like glue....they stick with you no matter what.

I truely believe that I am one of the luckest peope alive because I have one of the greatest group of friends in the whole world.  They are the kind of friends that I can go without talking to for weeks, yet always manage to pick right up where we left off.  The 6 of us have been together for so long and been through alot together.  They truely are some of the most wonderful people in my life and I thank God for them everyday.  So here they are.

Allison King
Allison and I have been best friends since we were in diapers.  We used to live up the street from one another.  Our brothers became friends, so inevitably, so did we.  We have gone on many trips together all around the world.   We are so diffrent, yet so alike.  True believers that opposites attract!  Allison currently lives in Washington D.C. and is living it up!

Kevan Beth Tucker
Kevan Beth and I have been friends since we were in diapers.  She also used to live in my neighborhood along with allison.  Kevan Beth and I have done many things together throughout our lives including church, gymnastics, cheerleading, and getting into some trouble!!  Kevan Beth, aka Ralphie, is always there for me and always lends an ear to listen.  She is currently living in Little Rock, Arkansas and is beginning Medical School tomorrow.  I am so proud of her!

Elizabeth Arnold
Elizabeth is also another diaper buddy.  Our families have been friends for a long time and so have we.  "Liz" is a very down to earth person and I admire her for it.  She always has kind words and always has my back no matter what.  Elizabeth is currently working for the Arkansas Lottery and lives in a cool little loft apartment in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas.  (maybe someday she will be writing me a check after I hit big!)

Mary Wood
Mary is a great friend.  She and I are alot alike and on occasion get mistaken for sisters.  Mary and I have done theater together since we were very little.  Mary has always been there for me and always makes me laugh with her stories.  She just graduated from Nuclear Medicine School and is on the prowl for a job.

Drew Ladd
Drew is such a great guy.  He is just "one of the girls."  Drew and I became friends during Community Theater when we were in junior high.  Drew is a great person and makes me laugh all of the time.  He always tells it like it is and I love him for it.  Drew is currently in school at Rosevelt in Chicago.  I am so proud of his accomplishments and hope his AMAZING voice takes him far.

Well there you have it.  There are my best friend.  I have met so many other great people along my walk in life that I will never forget also, but these guys have been there with me through it all.  I miss many of my friends from college, my sorrority sisters, and all those people that walk in and out of your life.  I will neve forget them and think of them often.  Friends are such a great and important part of my life and I thank God everyday that I get to spend with those I currently have and for allowing me to meet new friends along the way.

My family

My family is a huge part of my life and always has been.  It is very hard to be almost 800 miles away from them all.  My Mom and Dad are amazing parents who have taught me that life is hard, but it is worth it and try to have fun along the way.   I also have two brothers who are wonderful and have beautiful families themselves.  I also have a great new family (Josh's family), who has taken me in as their own! So, let me introduce them to you.

My Mom and Dad
Here is my Mom, Deann.  My Mom is a wonderful woman.  She is a hard worker, has raised 3 wonderful children, and built a great home.  She has a green thumb and is a phenomenal cook.  My Mom keeps me grounded.  I love and miss her so much, I just wish we lived closer.

My Dad

This is my Dad, Donald.  He is a hard working farmer, a provider, and an all around great man.  He has taught me the values of life.  He is just a big teddy bear, and I will always be Daddy's little girl.

My oldest brother Win
Win has a great family.  His wife Jennifer is just like a sister to me and I could not ask for more!  They have two beautiful kiddos....Cooper who is 2 and baby Caitlin who is 4 days old!

Next is my brother Will.
Will is an all around great guy. He also has a great little family.  His wife Lane is also just like a sister to me, and a great creative person.  They have a precious little boy, Caden.  He is 4 1/2 and is the sweetest little boy I know.
Will, Lane and Caden.

Like I said before...I now have a new family as well.  The Massey's.  Josh's family has been so great to me and I could not ask for better in-laws.  I really appreciate all they do.  Now let's introdue them...

Josh's Mom, Jinger

Josh's Dad, Joel

and Josh's Sister Heather...aka Aunt Heather

I am truely blessed with a wonderful family.  I love them all.  Without them I would be lost.  I miss them all each and everyday.
